Meriwether Newfoundlands Puppy Reservation Process

The reservation process is in place to make sure your family is a good fit for a Newfoundland and for one of my puppies.

01. Fill out a questionnaire. I want to learn about you and how a puppy will live with your family.

02. Let’s chat and get to know each other. Once I receive your questionnaire, I’ll schedule a time for us to chat and get to know each other. Keep in mind that I am located in the central time zone.

03. Reservation invitation. If we’re a good fit after we have had a chance to chat, I’ll invite you to submit a reservation for your desired litter. If you are not ready to move forward and place a reservation, that is fine, but I will not stay in touch with you, it will be your responsibility to remain in contact with me.

I do not keep a “wait list” of people to call

I keep a reservation list of people who have secured their reservation with a down payment. People on my reservation list are who I stay in contact with. Pups are placed into approved homes from our reservation list. If you desire to be on our reservation list, please refer back to step one on this page and fill out a questionnaire to start the reservation process.

Why not Newfoundlands? In all seriousness though, Newfoundlands hold a very special place in my heart. Once you have a Newfie, you can’t not have a Newfie.

No. Puppies aren’t like cans of Coke sitting on the shelf waiting to be bought. If you would like a puppy from Meriwether, you will need to go through the reservation process.

At the moment, I am breeding for Black, Brown, and Landseer.

Yes, when time permits. I really enjoy showing the dogs. However, living in North Dakota does have it’s challenges. There are two shows the whole year in our state, otherwise the next closest dog shows are all a minimum of a five hour drive away. I also work full time at a real job and do have other interests in addition to dogs that I would like to spend my time on too. Life is all about balance.

Yes and no. We offer an inflight nanny service for anyone unable to drive to our home in North Dakota to pick up their puppy.

I read somewhere recently that having a pretty website should be considered a red flag when researching breeders. I would like to submit that is in fact false. You can be a good, ethical breeder and have a pretty website. In the Internet world, I come from a blogging, web/graphic design background. In the blogging space, “pretty” websites are a must. Over the years I have developed a standard for what I want my sites (I run quite a few different blogs) to look like. Compared to when I started blogging, pretty sites are not a hard thing to do if you want one. All it takes is some time and YouTube University. Just because I was born in the 90s doesn’t mean my site needs to look like it came from that decade too.
